Notes
John Bennett , another apprentice of Samuel Neilson at the Quebec Gazette, succeeded Louis Roy as King’s Printer in July 1801, and duly took over as publisher of the Upper Canada Gazette. He continued to issue the Statutes of Upper Canada and produced an almanac in 1803. He published the first Christian literature in Ontario and was also the first to publish election campaign literature.
