Notes

One in a series of six ads by the Harold F. Stanfield ad agency and Carl Dair saluting the Canadian character produced for The E. B. Eddy company by the Eveleigh-Dair studio in Montreal. All six ads had vibrant coloured backgrounds and strong simple design and typography. The other titles in the series were; courage, far-sightedness, patience, resourcefulness and stability. In 1950 the series won an award for magazine advertising in the Second Annual Toronto Art Directors Club show. – Rod McDonald
